Weekly Fly - Pheasant Tail Nymph

The first fly I learned to tie was the Humpy but I'm pretty sure the Pheasant Tail was a close second.  It's easy to get caught up in the hype of all the new fly tying materials, techniques, and patterns that we sometimes lose sight, or interest in the flies that have worked so well in the past. The pheasant tail is definitely one of those flies for me. I can't even count the number of fish I caught on this fly when I first started fly fishing but now I rarely tie the fly on anymore. Hmmm...might be a good time to go old school. Here's the video.
