Wondering where all the hackle is going??

About a year ago my girlfriend's sister was rummaging through my fly tying material and was pleasantly surprised with some of the hackle feathers that I had. She asked to borrow a few to make some earrings and not thinking much of it, I said fine. Turns out, hackle feathers are becoming quite popular with jewelers. Popular enough that many of the fly shops are running on low supply. I didn't really think much of it to start with (feather supply that is) but now that I'm having trouble finding feathers for fly tying, I'm disappointed. I guess as the trend passes, there are going to be a lot of NICE feathers that some women might be willing to get rid of. These "Feather extensions" can't be popular forever...
